The Cummins QSK60 diesel generator sets are heavy units with relatively larger sizes and weights of over 14 Tonnes generally. For instance, the sizes of a Cummins QSK60G7 are 5975mm(L) x 2250mm(W) x 2582mm(H), while the sizes of a Cummins KTA50G3 are 5110mm(L) x 2010mm(W) x 2413mm(H). To support the weight of the generator safely and effectively, our base frame designs have the following features:
Use of rigid material
While the folded steel channels can be effective choices for various generator base frames, our base frame for the Cummins QSK60 series is made of high-quality I-beam steel that provides more robust support to sustain the generator. The cross-section of I-beams is like an uppercase “I” that the flanges are connected by a vertical component. This structure makes I-beam steel capable of withstanding vertical and horizontal stress and bearing greater payloads.
Enhanced support for radiator base framel
The weight of a radiator for the Cummins QSK60 genset is over 1400kgs. Due to heavier weights and for easier lifting, the radiator has its base frame. So, users can separate the radiator when unloading the genset. To further strengthen durability, we increased the thickness of the supported skew plates at the bottom of the radiator base frame.
Convenient lifting
Apart from lifting holes in the generator base frame, we added four lifting lugs mounted parallelly on the base frame. The thickness of the lifting lugs is 30mm, enabling larger weight capacities. There are 8 lifting points of a Cummins QSK60 base frame. Without damaging other components of the machine (e.g. air filters), this design let users lift the gensets in various styles depending on their equipment.
