Business operations are not just for profit making, but we can also encourage a caring society. Recognising the growing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in today’s business landscape, our team has embarked on a journey to engage in community service initiatives. This led us to two meaningful activities: Christmas Party Volunteering and Red Packet Recycling.
Christmas Party Volunteering
Last Christmas, our team helped a charity to organise a party for children with disabilities to become part of society. The charity assists persons who are physically and mentally challenged due to neurological impairment. Since children are the future pillars of our society, we hope to give a hand to cultivating the next generations for a better and harmonious society.
Before visiting the centre, our team members prepared gift sets for distribution. At the party, our volunteer team collaborated with centre staff, therapists and parents to let the party run smoothly. Our team interacted with the children to have group activities such as jigsaw puzzles, multimedia games and craft making. It was a heartwarming and valuable experience to feel the joy on their faces. We felt privileged to be able to contribute to those in need.
Red Packet Recycling
After Chinese New Year, we also participated in a ‘Lai See’ (red packet) reuse and recycle program. The red envelopes, also known as Lai See, are traditionally given as gifts during the holiday. We collected Lai See from our colleagues which were carefully sorted and processed. The repurposed Lai See will be distributed and reused next year. While preserving traditions, this initiative aims to reduce waste and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
We take pride in our commitment to benefit our community and our efforts to promote sustainability. By incorporating ESG & CSR values into our actions, we believe that small actions can lead to a positive impact on society. In the future, Yip Shing and Top One Power teams will collaborate to expand our community engagement. Our team can’t wait to join more volunteering and community activities!
